Helpful Tips for Cats
Brushing Your Cat’s Teeth
Help your cat adjust to tooth brushing by starting with gentle gum rubs. Progress to using a pet-safe toothbrush and toothpaste. Use slow, straight motions and keep sessions short and stress-free.
Administering Eye Drops To Your Cat
Wash your hands before applying eye drops. Hold your cat securely, gently tilt the head back, and drop medication into the corner of the eye. Avoid touching the eye with the dropper.
Giving Liquid Medication To Your Cat
Try mixing liquid meds with a small amount of favorite wet food. If needed, use a syringe to gently squirt the liquid into the side of the mouth while speaking calmly.
Giving Your Cat a Pill
Hide the pill in a treat. If that fails, place it at the back of the tongue, close the mouth, and gently stroke the throat. Give positive reinforcement after.
Using Ear Drops
Warm the medication, hold the cat securely, and drop it into the ear canal. Massage the base of the ear and allow the cat to shake its head to distribute the medication.
